Rescue operation “Sawmill fire 18th July 2017”
18th July 2017 11.00AM call to the emergency number: „Smoke rises from Tallinn Sawmill.”
11:15 Fire brigade at the scene. 2 firefighters enter an industrial building and team leader stays out. Team leader uses CAFA Command and sees live video from the firefighter positions.
11:25 Something happens with a firefighter and he falls down. Team leader sees the real time situation in CAFA Command and can react immediately.
11:25 Fire Department commanding officer can see situation at the scene remotely and sends 2 additional teams and an ambulance to the scene.
11.45 One team uses the drone to assess the Sawmill complex. Drone camera live stream in CAFA Command is visible to all firefighter teams and Commanding officers in the Fire Department.
11:50 Commanding officer sees CAFA Command live stream and detects the fire 450m away.
Commanding officer marks new location to the CAFA Map and second team sees alert information with location and moves quickly towards the fire.
